Rogers Cemetery

Location: High Plains School Road.
GPS Coordinates: 36° 31' 54"N, 78° 51' 04"W (WGS84/NAD83)
Topographic Map

This cemetery has been moved to the Bethel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. I have included it here because it is listed as a part of the USGS National Mapping Information site. The list that results from searching the site for Person County cemeteries is listed on the Person County Cemeteries on USGS Maps web page.

The graves in this cemetery were moved when Carolina Power & Light Company (now Progress Energy) purchased the land for inclusion in Mayo Lake, then being constructed as a part of the Mayo Power Plant. The permits for disinterment / reinterment for this cemetery are recorded in book 88, page 256 and following, in the Person County Register of Deeds. Moving the graves was completed on July 8, 1976. The permits were recorded on August 4, 1976.
